SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury could not overcome a first half goal and a late first half red card as they fell to Indianapolis 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
The Panthers lost for the first time this season and fell to 3-1-1 and 1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Greyhounds improved to 3-1 and 2-0 in the league.
Indianapolis got the game's lone goal in the 23
rd minute as Michele Govern scored on an assist from Ashleigh Lewis. The goal was Govern's second of the season.
Drury goalkeeper
Tina Haberberger was issued a red card in the 38
th minute leaving the Panthers a player short.
Gabrielle Klingaman made three saves for Drury keeping the Panthers in the game and Drury managed four shots in the second half with 10 players but could not draw even.
Indianapolis outshot the Panthers 14-4 in the game.
Drury travels to Illinois Springfield on Friday for their next game. The Panthers take on the Prairie Stars in a GLVC game at 5 p.m. in Springfield, Illinois.
