QUINCY, Ill. – Quincy used two second half goals, including the game-winner in the 88
th minute, to defeat Drury 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Legends Stadium in Quincy, Illinois.
The Panthers fell to 3-3 and 2-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy raised their record to 3-2 and 2-1 in the conference.
Drury broke through in the first half on a goal from
Parker Crawford. The freshman from Nixa put the Panthers ahead 1-0 on an assist from
Ben Bruce in the 35
th minute.
The Hawks responded with two goals in the second half. Quincy tied the game in the 51
st minute on the first goal of the year by Ty Rogers. Then, with 1:48 remaining in regulation, Chris McArthur converted the game-winning goal to give the Hawks a 2-1 win.
Drury outshot the Quincy 15-8 and had six shots on goal to the Hawks' four.
The loss keeps Drury winless at Quincy in their program history. The Panthers fell to 0-8-2 all-time on Quincy's field.
Drury returns home next weekend. The Panthers host Truman State on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game at the Lake Country Soccer Complex.
