SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Truman State got two goals from Jen Seithel including one in the closing minutes as the Bulldogs handed Drury a 3-0 loss on Friday at the Lake Country Soccer Complex in Springfield.
The Panthers dropped their fourth straight and fell to 3-4-1 and 1-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Truman State improved to 3-2-1 and 3-1-1 in the GLVC.
Seithel scored her first goal of the game and the season in the 35
th minute on a penalty kick to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Chance Douglass then gave Truman State a 2-0 advantage six minutes later. Douglass raced passed the Panthers defenders and scored on a breakaway after receiving a long pass down field from Paige Peterson.
Seithel then put the game out of reach scoring her second goal of the game in the final two minutes.
Truman State outshot the Panthers 11-5 and Drury had only one shot on goal.
Drury will look to snap their skid on Sunday as they host William Jewell. Game time is at noon at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
