SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – William Jewell got a second half goal from Aspen Hawkins and held off Drury for a 1-0 win on Sunday at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex in Springfield.
The Panthers fell to 3-5-1 and 1-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. William Jewell raised their record to 5-3 and 3-2 in the GLVC.
The goal from Hawkins came in the 65
th minute as the senior from Springfield-Central returned to her former high school stadium. It was her second goal of the season. Alyson Galler picked up the assist.
The Cardinals outshot Drury 25-14.
Tina Haberberger had eight saves for the Panthers in the loss.
Drury returns to action on Friday when they play at Rockhurst. Game time is 5 p.m. in Kansas City.
