SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Panthers improved to 12-2 and 4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 3-0 win over William Jewell on Tuesday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield. The Cardinals fell to 4-10 and 1-4 in the GLVC with the loss.
Drury won the opening set 25-13 and took command scoring 12 unanswered points. Trailing 7-4,
Emmalee Chrest came through with a kill and Drury reeled off 11 straight points behind the serve of
Kendra Sater.
The Panthers took the second set 25-17 and pulled away late in the third set for a 25-21 win to complete the sweep.
"Kendra does a really great job with the placement of her serve," said Drury head coach
Jenifer Bahner. "She finds seams between two passers or gets close to a line. She had us on some great runs tonight and that provided great energy for us."
Bentley Mara led the Panthers with 14 kills and posted a .583 hitting percentage in the match. Sater added 31 assists and 13 digs while
Bree Schmidt contributed 23 digs.
Olivia Tolberd had 15 digs to lead William Jewell.
Drury travels to 25
th ranked Rockhurst for their next game on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.
