KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sixth ranked Rockhurst kept their conference record perfect as they came from behind for a 2-1 win over Drury at Bourke Field in Kansas City on Friday.
The Hawks improved to 7-0-1 and 6-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Panthers fell to 5-4 and 4-3 in the league.
Charles Guelly got Drury on the board as he got past the defense and scored on a breakaway to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. The goal was Guelly's second of the year.
Rockhurst, however, got two goals from Adam Michel to come from behind. Michel tied the game on a free kick from 24 yards out in the first half, then scored the game-winner in the 78
th minute on a header set up by a corner kick.
Drury outshot the Hawks 14-9 and had 10 shots on goal but Rockhurst goalkeeper Logan Feldmann had nine saves and kept his team in front down the stretch.
The Panthers return to action on October 6 when they travel to Missouri S&T. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Rolla.
