Kayla Day's second half goal helps DU to a 2-2 at SBU

BOLIVAR, Mo. – A goal by Kayla Day in the 72nd minute helped Drury to a 2-2 tie on Tuesday at Southwest Baptist. The Panthers' record went to 2-0-1 while the Bearcats went to 0-1-1.
 
Southwest Baptist took a 2-1 lead 10 minutes into the second half on Raegan Edwards' second goal of the game. The Bearcats maintained the lead for the next 17 minutes until Day's second goal of the season evened the score.
 
In the first half, the two teams traded goals 33 seconds apart in the 15th minute. Edwards scored to put Southwest Baptist in the lead but Gabby Menendez put home her second goal of the year to tie the game 1-1 moments later.
 
The Bearcats had the advantage in shots 15-13 but Drury had five shots on goal to Southwest Baptist's four.
 
The Panthers play their home opener and start conference play on Friday. Drury hosts Wisconsin-Parkside for a 5 p.m. kickoff at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
