Panthers play home opener vs Wisconsin-Parkside
Drury plays their first home game of the 2017 season and opens their Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule as they host Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday at 5 p.m.
 
The Panthers are 2-0-1 and coming off of a 2-2 tie on Tuesday at Southwest Baptist. Drury started the year with a back-to-back wins in the Nebraska-Kearney Fall Classic. The Panthers defeated Minnesota State-Moorhead 1-0 and then downed Montana State-Billings 2-1.
 
Wisconsin-Parkside is 1-2 and picked up a 1-0 win in overtime on Tuesday against Cardinal Stritch (Wisc.). The Rangers lost their opener, 3-0, at Minnesota-Duluth and fell in their second game, 2-0, at Minnesota State-Mankato. Wisconsin-Parkside went 10-6-2 last year and 10-4-1 in the GLVC. They were picked to finish seventh in the league this year in the conference's preseason coaches' poll.
 
Drury lost last year's meeting against the Rangers 2-0 in Wisconsin. Wisconsin-Parkside got goals from Brooke Monroe and Jillian Hetfleisch and outshot the Panthers 23-7. Tina Haberberger made 15 saves for Drury in the loss. The Rangers won in their last game at Drury with a 1-0 win in 2015. The Panthers last win over Wisconsin-Parkside was in 2013 with a 2-0 win at Harrison Stadium.
 
The Panthers are back at home on Sunday as they host Indianapolis. Game time is at noon at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
