Joshua Lewis-Evans' late goal gives Panthers 1-0 win vs Wisconsin-Parkside

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Joshua Lewis-Evans scored with 2:35 remaining to give Drury a 1-0 win in their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener over Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday night at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
 
Drury raised their record to 2-1 and 1-0 in the GLVC. The Rangers dropped to 0-3 and 0-1 in the conference.
 
Lewis-Evans, a freshman from Ricksmansworth, England, deflected home a ball on a scramble on right side of the goal. Stephen Al-Sayed was credited with the assist.
 
The goal capped a Panthers' turn-around after Drury was outshot in the first half 6-2. The Panthers owned a 10-3 shot advantage in the second half and ended the game with 12 shots to Wisconsin-Parkside's 9.
 
Drury goalkeeper Nic Helin made five saves as he earned his second shutout of the season and the 16th of his career.
 
The Panthers are home again on Sunday when they take on Indianapolis. Game time is 2:30 p.m. at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
