LOUISVILLE, Ky.– The Bellarmine Knights scored 35 seconds into the game against Drury and pulled away for a 3-0 win on Sunday at Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Knights improved to 9-4-3, 7-2-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and the win kept them within striking distance of first-place Lewis who entered the day 8-3 in the league. The Panthers fell to 0-15-1 and 0-12 in the conference.
Madison Stephens got Bellarmine on the board in the game's opening moments scoring her third goal on the season from five yards out with assists from Audrey Van Der Elst and Natalie Teo.
Isabella Zamborini gave the Knights a 2-0 lead with her fourth goal of the year, and Van Der Elst put the game away in the 65
th minute with her sixth goal of the season.
Sarah Franks had five saves for Drury in the loss.
The Panthers end the 2018 season on Wednesday at Rockhurst. Game time is at 5 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.
