13th ranked Drury picks up 3-1 win at Missouri S&T

ROLLA, Mo.- The 13th ranked Drury Panthers picked up a 3-1 road win (25-22, 25-17, 19-25, 25-21) at Missouri S&T in Rolla on Tuesday. Drury improved to 22-4 and 12-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Miners fell to 14-12 and 6-8 in the GLVC.

The Panthers pulled away late in the first set to win 25-22, then cruised to a 25-17 win in the second. Missouri S&T bounced back to win the third set 25-19, but Drury responded to take a 9-3 lead in fourth and held off the Miners to close out the match.

Taylor Forth led the Panthers with 14 kills and five block assists. Kendra Sater added 41 assists and had 12 digs while Bree Schmidt contributed 25 digs. Sarah Kite, a second team all-conference performer last year who has missed most of this season with an injury, had a season-high 10 kills in the win. The senior from Plano, Texas was Drury's leader in kills per set last season and going into Tuesday night had played in just five games and 10 sets all year.

The Panthers return home on Friday as they host Quincy in a conference match. Game time is at 7 p.m. in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
