SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The 13th ranked Drury Panthers moved back into first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after their 3-0 win over Quincy (25-19, 25-19, 25-11) on Friday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Drury's win and Illinois Springfield's loss to Lewis on Friday vaulted the Panthers past UIS in the GLVC standings. Drury improved to 23-4 and 13-2 in the conference. Quincy dropped to 12-16 and 2-13 in the league.

Drury won the first two sets 25-19 then roared to a 25-11 win in the third to close out the match.

"In the first two sets we turned our line-up a little to try something different," said Drury head coach
Jenifer Bahner. "We had some people playing in some different spots, and then in the third, I wanted us to go out with a bang, so we went back to our normal, true line-up. We got a little more of our rhythm back, and I think you could see the high level we're capable of playing."

The Panthers posted a .343 hitting percentage in the match and featured a balanced scoring attack as
Taylor Forth had 12 kills while
Emmalee Chrest had 11 kills, a solo block, and four block assists.
Kendra Sater added 33 assists.

Taylor McMonagle led the Hawks with a game-high 14 kills.

Drury leads the GLVC by a half-game over Illinois Springfield who will enter play on Saturday with a 12-2 conference record.

The Panthers host Truman State on Saturday for Senior Day as the team will honor their four senior players before the 3 p.m. match at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
