WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Drury beat a ranked opponent for the second time in two days and completed the Peggy Martin Challenge hosted by the University of Central Missouri with a 3-1 record as the Panthers defeated 14th ranked Arkansas Tech 3-1 on Saturday in Warrensburg.
Arkansas Tech (1-2) won the first set 25-20, but the Panthers evened the match 1-1 after winning the second set 32-30. Drury dominated from there winning the third set 25-16 and the fourth 25-14.
Bentley Mara led Drury with 18 kills and posted a .288 hitting percentage. She also contributed with six block assists as the Panthers posted 10 team blocks in the match.
Kendra Sater had 48 assists and had 14 digs while
Evan Larson added eight kills, two solo blocks, and four block assists.
Drury played all four matches this weekend without senior
Sarah Kite, last year's team leader in kills, and
Faith Alwardt, who led the Panthers in blocks a year ago.
Drury heads to Florida for their next set of games as they take part in the Terrace Hotel Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Panthers take on 21st ranked Ferris State on Friday followed by a match against fourth-ranked Florida Tech in Lakeland, Florida.
