CLAREMORE, Okla.–  Chris Sowder scored two goals for Rogers State as the Hillcats handed Drury a 2-0 loss in the season-opening game for both teams Thursday night in Claremore, Oklahoma.
 
Sowder scored seven minutes into the match on an assist from Noah Robson. Sowder scored again early in the second half to put Rogers State ahead 2-0, and the Hillcats held the Panthers down the rest of the way.
 
Drury managed eight shots with three shots on goal while Rogers State put 14 shots with seven on goal. 
 
The Panthers continue the road trip on Saturday when they take on 17th ranked Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
