SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Missouri Southern State broke a scoreless deadlock in the second half converting on a penalty kick and went on to a 2-0 win over the Drury Panthers on Sunday night at Harrison Stadium in the Curry Sports Complex.
The Lions improved to 1-0-1 while Drury dropped to 0-1-1.
Meredith Belrose scored her first goal of the season as she connected on a penalty kick in the 55th minute to put Missouri Southern in front. Jessica Edwards scored 14 minutes later kicking home a shot that rebounded off of Drury goalkeeper

Franks kept the Panthers in the game as she made seven saves including four in a scoreless first half. The Lions outshot Drury 23-6, and Missouri Southern put up 15 shots before halftime.
Gabbe Millot led Drury with four shots and one on goal.
The Panthers will head to Saint Charles, Missouri for their next two games. Drury will play Lindenwood on Friday and Emporia State on Sunday afternoon at Lindenwood University.
