SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– William Jewell edged past the Drury women's soccer team, scoring a pair of goals in each half for a 4-3 GLVC victory Sunday at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex.

William Jewell improved to 6-4-1 and 3-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Panthers fell to 0-9-1 and 0-6 in the league.
 
Jewell wasted little time getting on the board, when Lexie Hawkins netted one from 12 yards out off a Allison Malott assist in the opening minute of the contest.  A rebound goal at the 20^th minute mark by Malott would put the Cardinals up 2-0 at the half. 

Brinn Cooper, a freshman from Clever (Springfield Catholic), scored the first of her two goals and got the Panthers on the board in the 57^th minute, assisted by Uxoa Bertiz.  Malott posted her second goal on the day for the Cardinals in the 59^th minute on an open play that Drury's keeper came out to defend on. 

Cooper scored her second goal of the day in the 72^nd minute, cutting the Jewell lead to 3-2.  Chloe Cash, a freshman from Nixa, evened the score 3-3 with an unassisted goal in the 74^th minute of action.  The Cardinals escaped with the win on an own goal by Drury with just six minutes left in regulation.

Drury outshot Jewell 19-13 and held a 10-6 edge on shots on goal.  Cooper, Bertiz, and Gabbe Millot each took three shots.
 
Drury is home again on Friday, October 5 when they host Truman State for a 11 a.m. at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex.
