QUINCY, Ill.– Quincy used two first half goals to edge past the Drury women's soccer team 2-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play at Legends Stadium on Sunday.
The Hawks scored in the seventh minute to take a 1-0 lead, but Drury answered in the 25
th minute on an
Erica Hartley goal that was assisted by
Keeley Combs. Quincy netted the game winner with just twelve seconds left in the opening half on a goal by Paige Anderson.
Combs, Hartley, and
Kaley Rottinghaus each had two shots for the Panthers who finished with seven. Quincy outshot Drury 22-7 and held a 12-3 advantage on shots on goal. DU keeper
Kaitlin Knetzke recorded a season-high 10 saves in goal.
Quincy improved to 5-6 overall and 4-5 in the GLVC and Drury fell to 10-10-1 overall and 1-8 in GLVC play.
Drury will return home on Friday when they will face Bellarmine at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex with kickoff set for 11 a.m.
