Panthers stay perfect in the GLVC with 3-0 win over Truman St.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The Drury Panthers snapped a four-game losing steak and kept their Great Lakes Valley Conference record perfect in a 3-0 win (26-24, 25-19, 25-19) over Truman State at the O'Reilly Family Event Center on Friday.

Drury's improved to 14-11 and 8-0 in the GLVC while the Bulldogs fell to 9-14 and 2-6 in the league.

The Panthers won a back-and-forth opening set 26-24 and carried momentum into the next two sets winning both 25-19 to complete the sweep.

"I feel like we played a little more relaxed tonight," said Drury head coach Jenifer Bahner. "Give credit to Truman State because they earned their points in that first set. We didn't make a lot of errors, and for this team, minimizing errors is really important."

Drury posted a .278 hitting percentage and was led by Makina Wratten's 12 kills while Regan Dennis added 10. Gabby Birmingham had 23 assists, and Paige Perry contributed 17 digs.

The Panthers ended the night alone in first place in the GLVC as they hold a one-game lead over Rockhurst and a two-game advantage over Lewis and Indianapolis.

Drury is back at home on Saturday as they host Quincy at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
