SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury gave themselves chances late but fell to Southern Indiana 1-0 on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.
Rachel Gray scored the game's only goal as the Screaming Eagles got on the board in the 25th minute. Gray received a ball in front of the net on a cross from Audrey Andrezejeski and put in her first goal of the season.
Southern Indiana's lone goal would hold up as the two teams battled through rainy conditions in a scoreless second half. The Panthers had two chances in the game's final 10 minutes, including a shot on target by
Lindsey Lee that was saved by Screaming Eagles goalkeeper Maya Etienne. Etienne had two saves in the shutout.
Southern Indiana raised their record to 7-2 and 5-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while Drury fell to 1-8-1 and 1-6 in the league.
The Panthers are on the road for their next game as they travel to Truman State for a 2:30 pm game on Friday in Kirksville, Missouri.
