ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – A
Kennedy Thompson goal three minutes before the first half ended gave the Drury women's soccer team a 1-0 victory at Lewis in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest at the Lewis Stadium on Friday.
Despite being outshot 20-1 and 9-1 on shots on goal, Drury's only shot was the one that mattered with Kennedy netting the game winner into the lower left corner of the net.
Kaitlin Knetzke played a huge part recording nine saves in goal for the Panthers.
Drury moves to 2-13-2 overall and 2-11-1 in the GLVC and Lewis is now 7-7-3 overall and 5-6-3 in the GLVC.
Drury will travel to Illinois-Springfield on Sunday, November 3 at 2:30 p.m.
