SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Lewis, the top ranked team in the Midwest Region and #12 nationally, edged past the Drury volleyball Panthers by scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 12-25, and 15-11 on senior day Saturday.
Drury held a 11-7 lead and had gained the momentum as the fifth and final set neared its end, but the Flyers rallied to score the final eight points of the match for a come from behind 15-11 set and match victory.
Julia McCown, a freshman from Ozark led the Panthers with 12 while senior
Paige Perry finished with a Panther high 21 digs and
Reba Thomsen added a team best 20 assists.
Drury moves to 17-13 overall and 11-2 in the GLVC and Lewis improved to 24-4 overall and 10-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Drury will travel to Bellarmine on November 15
th with first serve set for 6 p.m. (Central Standard Time).
