BOLIVAR, Mo.–
Jamie O'Brien scored three goals as Drury won their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener 4-1 over Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Missouri on Friday night.
The Panthers improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the league and dropped the Bearcats to 0-3 and 0-1 in the conference.
O'Brien, a sophomore from Darlington, England, got Drury on the board midway through the first half, then scored again in the 53rd minute with an assist from
Trevor Cairns.
Southwest Baptist, in their first year as a full GLVC member, pulled within a goal 11 minutes later as Kevin Zavala scored his first of the season.

Alex Esquivel gave the Panthers back a two-goal lead, however, in the 68th minute and O'Brien notched his third goal of the game in the 88th minute.
O'Brien's hat trick was Drury's first since
Antoine Vial scored three goals against Missouri S&T on Oct. 26, 2016.
The Panthers return home for a non-conference game on Sunday against Union University. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
