William Jewell gets past Panthers 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– William Jewell scored a goal in each half and held off the Panthers for a 2-0 win at Harrison Stadium in Springfield on Friday.
 
The Cardinals got on the board early as Gracie Schweinfurth put William Jewell in front 1-0 with a goal in the seventh minute. Carolyn Schneck notched the Cardinals' other goal midway through the second half.
 
Drury put up 12 shots including six on-goal, but William Jewell goalie Kaylie Kappelmann had six saves in the win.
 
Kaitlyn Knetzke had three saves and saw 17 shots from the Cardinals.
 
Both teams ended the night with records of 1-5-1 and 1-3 in the league.
 
Drury is home again on Sunday when they host 22nd ranked Rockhurst. Game time is at noon at Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex.
