SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers came up short in their upset bid against 22nd ranked Rockhurst as the Hawks hung on for a 1-0 win at Harrison Stadium in Springfield on Sunday.
The Hawks struck 20 minutes into the contest as Jillian Leetch scored her third goal of the season to give Rockhurst a 1-0 lead. Drury had a chance to even the score moments later as Kaley Rottinhaus fired a shot from the top of the box that was on target but stopped by Hawks goalkeeper Rosie Breheny.
Drury goalie Kaitlyn Knetzke kept the Panthers in the game with four saves, and the freshman from Ozark saw 19 shots. Drury had opportunities to draw even as they put up a flurry of shots midway through the second half.

Natalie Beck had one on goal a minute later, but Breheny made the save to preserve the lead.
Rockhurst improved to 7-0 and 5-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while Drury fell to 1-6-1 and 1-4 in the league.
Drury is home again on Friday when they host McKendree at 5 pm at Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex.
