COLUMBIA, Mo.— The Drury Panthers picked up a tournament win, and Izzy Marten was first overall in the Columbia College Cougars Classic on Monday. Drury posted a team score of 651 and was 75-over-par at the 5,838-yard, par-72, Columbia Country Club, and won by 35 shots over the host Cougars in the single-day, 36-hole, five-team event.
 
Izzy Marten won medalist honors at the tournament, firing a 12-over-par, 156 in the 32-player field. The senior from St. Louis shot a 78 in both of her rounds on Monday and won by one shot over Columbia's Haleigh Berrey. The win is the first of Marten's collegiate career.
 
Ellie Holloway finished third in the tournament shooting an 19-over-par, 163, while Taryn Overstreet came in fourth at +23. Overstreet shot an 86 in the first round, and came back with an 81 in her second 18 holes. Serena Berrey was fifth overall at 169 (+25), and Ellie Cobb improved her first round score by nine shots to finish 10^th with a +31, 175.
 
Drury had another player finish in the top 10 as Abby Howard, playing as an individual, finished sixth shooting 170 (+26), and Lauren Plunkett was 19^th with a +44, 188.
 
The tournament win for Drury is the team's first since a victory in the Drury Panthers Invitational on Sept. 24, 2019. It marks the Panthers' first tournament victory away from home since winning the Rockhurst Invitational on March 26, 2019.
 
The Panthers play their final event of the fall semester on Oct. 19-20 when they participate in the Payne Stewart Invitational hosted by Missouri State at Twin Oaks Country Club.
