PERU, Ind. – Drury women's golf season ended on Saturday (April 18) at the GLVC Championship at Rock Hollow Golf Course in Peru, Indiana.
The 72-par course played 5,918 yards in distance per round. The tournament features a three-round stroke-play format, with the top four teams advancing to medal/match play on Sunday.
Drury (+100) finished seventh in the 13-team field. The Panthers finished the first day of the tournament (April 17) in seventh place, unable to make a move in the final round. No. 19 Indianapolis (+26), No. 31 Missouri-St. Louis (+46), Maryville (+70), and Lewis (+77) each advance to Sunday's medal/match play rounds.
Ava Ray (Indianapolis) won the GLVC gold medal, shooting three-under over three rounds. Ray's teammate, Paige Giovenco (+4), earned silver and Missouri-St. Louis' Wilma Zanderau earned bronze shooting five-over.
Grace Stafford was Drury's top finisher. Stafford shot +18.
Chloe Wills ended her freshman campaign with a tied 22nd, shooting +21.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Grace Stafford jumped 13 spots from day one to day two after she shot a 76 in the final round.
- Chloe Wills shot a team-best 75 in round two.
- Jade Carter moved up seven spots in the third round after she shot an 80.
- Drury had the ninth most birdies in the field with 14 and the fourth most pars with 156.
- Despite the high number of birdies and pars, the Panthers totaled 107 bogeys and 47 double bogeys.
- Since the GLVC adopted its current medal/match-play format on the final day of the tournament in 2023, Drury has made it each year. This is the first time the Panthers will not play for a medal in the GLVC.
