CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.– The Drury women's swimming & diving team increased their lead while the men's squad moved to third place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The DU women's squad won all four events on Thursday night and reached the midway mark in the competition with 913 points. Indianapolis is in second place and still close with 825 points while Lindenwood is third with 799.
McKendree moved into first place in the men's championship with 720.5 points. Indianapolis is right behind them with 699 while the Panthers fell to third finishing Thursday with 599 points.
Women's Highlights
For the second straight day, Drury swimmers swept all four events and got Thursday's finals started by setting a conference record in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Mackenzie Wieberg,
Bailee Nunn,
Katarzyna Rogowska, and
Laura Pareja combined for a GLVC record time of 1:31.74, also the fastest time in Division II so far this year.
Bec Cross won the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:16.85.
Tori Sopp was third in the event (4:22.50).
Bailee Nunn won the 100 Butterfly at the conference meet for the third time in her career, finishing the event in 53.14.
Erica Dahlgren completed a career sweep in the 200 Freestyle winning the GLVC championship for the fourth time in her career, this time with a mark of 1:49.52.
Karianne Reinertsen was fifth in that event with a time of 1:50.83.
The Panthers capped the night with a win in the 400 Medley Relay as Pareja, Nunn, Sopp, and Dahlgren posted the fastest time in NCAA-II this season at 3:40.69
Men's Highlights
Drury was third in the 200 Free Relay as
Dawid Nowodworski,
Oleksii Khnykin,
Aidan Glynn, and
Caleb Carlson combined for a time of 1:20.06.
Andrew Rodriguez came in second in the 400 IM with a time of 3:50.27, and
Oleksii Khnykin was fourth in the 100 Fly (47.64).
Ean Vandergraaf was fourth in the 200 Free touching the wall in 1:38.50
Drury's top 400 Medley Relay team was disqualified in the preliminary heats earlier in the day.
Day three of the GLVC Championships is Friday, and preliminaries start at 8:45 am (Central). The event continues through Saturday night in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
