Erica Dahlgren was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Swimmer of the Year while head coach
Brian Reynolds was named the league's Coach of the Year in women's swimming & diving after his team won their fourth straight conference championship on Sunday in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Dahlgren broke two GLVC records, won four events, had a second-place finish, and a third-place finish at the league championship meet. The senior from Sweden broke the conference record with a win in the 1,650 Free with a time of 16:42.96 and set a GLVC record in the 1,000 Free (9:54.37). Dahlgren also completed a career sweep in the 200 Free winning the event for the fourth time in her career. She earned another gold in the 800 Free Relay. Dahlgren picked up a second-place finish in the 400 Free Relay and came in third in the 500 Free.
The award marks the second time in Dahlgren's career she has been named the GLVC Swimmer of the Year. She earned the honor as a sophomore in 2018 and was the league's Freshman of the Year in 2017.
Brian Reynolds was named the GLVC Women's Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year for the third straight season. He led the women's squad to their fourth consecutive league championship, and the team earned their sixth title in the seven years the GLVC has had the sport.
Drury's swim teams will host the Last Chance Meet on Saturday, Feb. 22 for a final opportunity to gain qualifying times to the NCAA-II championships. That event is scheduled to start at noon at the Breech Pool.
