SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Lady Panthers, unbeaten at 8-0 and ranked number one in NCAA-II, have ended their quarantine protocol and will play their first game since Jan. 6 on Thursday at Missouri S&T. Game time is 5:30 pm in Rolla.
The Drury women's basketball had to pause their season due to a positive test of the COVID-19 virus within the program on Jan. 7, and it was halted a second time for the same reason 10 days later. The Lady Panthers have not played a game since their 96-62 win over Maryville on Jan. 6.
Drury returned to abbreviated team workouts earlier this week as part of their return-to-play protocol. The Lady Panthers opted to play Thursday rather than risk having the game canceled. To make up for games that have already been postponed, Drury could face a schedule of 12 games in a 26-day stretch starting Feb. 2.
Upcoming games that have been rescheduled include:
Tue., Feb. 2 vs. Rockhurst, 5:30 pm (made up from Jan. 16)
Tue., Feb. 16 vs. Truman State, 4 pm (made up from Jan. 9)
Tue., Feb. 23 vs. William Jewell, 6:05 pm (made up from Jan. 14)
Drury has one other postponed game that has yet to be rescheduled, a contest at Southwest Baptist that was postponed on Jan. 21.
The Drury Lady Panthers are 8-0 and have won 40 straight games dating back through the 2019-20 season when they finished 32-0.
