SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Maryville Saints got a late first-half goal and hung on for a 1-0 win over the Drury Panthers on Friday afternoon at Harrison Stadium.
It marked Drury's first conference loss and dropped them to 4-4 and 4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Saints improved to 6-2-1 and 4-2 in the GLVC.
The game's only goal came in the 43
rd minute as Maryville's JD Sohn scored his first of the season on an assist from Jimmy Dogherty.
The Saints held off the Panthers from there as Drury put up four shots in the second half, including a sliding drive by
Joshua Lewis-Evans that rolled just wide of the right post late in the contest.
Adem Hamdaoua had three shots in the game for the Panthers.
Drury is back at home on Sunday when they host Missouri S&T for a 2:30 pm match at Harrison Stadium.
