HAMMOND, Ind.— The Drury Panthers won both of their games in the Midwest Regional Crossover Tournament on Saturday in Hammond, Indiana, as they rallied to defeat Parkside in five sets and finished the event with a 3-0 sweep of Malone.
Drury won two of their three matches in the event to end the tournament with a 13-8 record. Parkside dropped to 6-12 following their loss to the Panthers, while Malone went to 7-14.
After falling in the first two sets to Parkside in their first game of the day, the Panthers fought off a match-point in the third to say alive with a 26-24 win in the set. Drury then caught fire, winning the fourth 25-14, and closed the match with a 15-11 in the third.

Chloe Rear had a triple-double, dishing out 46 assists with 11 digs and 10 kills, while
Makina Wratten had 13 kills and four block assists
The match marked the eighth time Drury has gone five sets and moved their record to 4-4 when going the distance.
The Panthers swept past Malone 25-17, 25-15, and 25-13.
Maddie Baumer had 12 kills to lead Drury,
Juliana Squire contributed 24 digs, and Rear added 22 assists.
The Panthers return to conference play next weekend and are back at home as they Missouri-St. Louis on Friday at 7 pm, then Maryville at 3 pm on Saturday in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
