EVANSVILLE, Ind.— After dropping the first set by two, Drury responded by winning the next three to hand defending Great Lakes Valley Conference champion Southern Indiana a 3-1 loss in Evansville, Indiana on Saturday.
The Panthers raised their record to 17-9 and 7-6 in the GLVC, while the Screaming Eagles dropped to 14-10 and 8-5 in the league.
Drury edged Southern Indiana 25-23 in the second set, then pulled away for a 25-16 in the third. They earned the road with a 25-22 victory in the fourth.
Maddie Baumer registered a team-high 12 kills for the Panthers and posted a .440 hitting percentage.
Juliana Squire added 10 kills and had 11 digs, and
Chloe Rear also posted a double-double with 40 assists and 11 digs.
Taylor Forth had nine kills, four block assists and a solo block.
Abby Bednar led Southern Indiana with a game-high 19 kills.
The win was Drury's sixth victory in their last seven games. They return home to play Southwest Baptist on Tue., Nov. 2, at 7 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
