Panthers host Missouri S&T in GLVC Semifinals
The Drury Panthers are in the Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinals for the first time since 2008 and will host Missouri S&T at 1 pm at Harrison Stadium on Friday.
 
The winner of Friday's game advances to the conference championship and will play the winner of eighth-seeded Missouri-St. Louis and the number five seed, Southern Indiana. That match starts at 10 am in Harrison Stadium.
 
Drury is 13-4-1 and seeded second in the GLVC Tournament after going 10-3-1 in the league. The Panthers advanced through the quarterfinals after 2-0 win over Lewis on Sunday in Springfield. Drury was the only higher-seed, and the only home team to win in the quarterfinals as seeds number two, five, six, and eight advanced to the league semi's.
 
The Miners are 9-5-3 and went 7-4-3 in the conference. Missouri S&T got past third-seeded Truman State 2-0 on Sunday in Kirksville.
During the regular season, Drury defeated Missouri S&T 2-0 on Oct. 3 in Springfield. In that game, the Panthers got goals from Elsa Gonzalez and Tara Simon while Drury outshot the Miners 19-6. The Panthers lead the all-time series against S&T 14-4-5.
