SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Panthers won their 20
th game of the year as they swept William Jewell 3-0 on Friday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield.
Drury improved to 20-10 and 10-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Cardinals fell to 8-22 and 2-18 in the league.
The Panthers won the opening set 25-21 and pulled away from the Cardinals for a 25-17 win in the second. Drury fought off a set-point from William Jewell in third and took three straight points to close out the match, 26-24.
Makina Wratten led the Panthers with 12 kills, and the senior from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, posted a .308 hitting percentage.
Chloe Rear added 22 assists and 14 digs.
"Makina has been a such a force," said Drury head coach
Jenifer Bahner. "She continues to have a connection with Chloe in terms of running the offense that's been a really good threat for us, and she continues to be a big blocking presence."
Lily Johnson and Tatum Ernt had 10 kills each to lead William Jewell.
The Panthers end the regular season on Saturday when they host Missouri S&T at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
