INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The Drury Panthers had two wrestlers advance to the second day of competition at the Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis. Brandon Borlinghaus advanced through the quarterfinals at 133 pounds, and Peter Kuster won two of his three matches at 141 pounds and will also compete on Sunday. 
 
Borlinghaus, a freshman from Kansas City, went 3-0 on Saturday in the 133-pound division. He got past Eric Bartos from Mercyhurst with an 8-6 sudden-victory win in the opening round. Borlinghaus then pinned Ashton Anderson from Findlay in 2:27 to get to the quarterfinals. He capped his Saturday off with a 10-8 win over Cole Jones from Minnesota State-Morehead.
 
At 141 pounds, Kuster won his first two matches. The junior from Jefferson City earned a 7-3 win over Angel Flores from Adams State, then got past Maryville's Taylor Jokerst 5-0 to reach the quarterfinals. Kuster then lost to Nate Kreim from Central Oklahoma 5-3, sending him to the consolation bracket.
 
"Congrats so far to Borlinghaus and Kuster as they are still fighting heading into the second day of this absolute monster of a tournament," said Drury head coach James Reynolds. "They will remain focused because there is still a lot of wrestling to go tomorrow. The rest of the team had some very valuable lessons and will learn from this experience."

The 42^nd Annual Midwest Classic features 44 NCAA-II teams from 22 states. 17 squads are ranked in the top 25, and 67 wrestlers are nationally ranked in their respective weight classes. The event continues on Sunday at 8:30 am (Central).
