LIBERTY, Mo.— The 10
th ranked Drury Panthers improved to 3-1 as they swept William Jewell 3-0 on Friday in Liberty, Missouri.
Drury overpowered the Cardinals in the opening set and built a 21-5 lead before closing the first with a 25-11 win. The Panthers took the second set 25-22 and had to rally from a 22-18 deficit in the third to clinch the match 25-23.
Freshman
Tayte Kozlowski led Drury with 10 kills while fellow rookie
Claire Taylor added nine. Taylor also had 14 assists, and
Kayla Allison contributed 13 digs. Sophomore
Chloe Rear had two service aces while adding eight kills, 13 assists, and nine digs.
William Jewell's Paityn Hardison had a game-high 13 kills as the Cardinals dropped to 0-5 with the loss.
Drury heads to Indianapolis for a GLVC triangular on Saturday. The Panthers will take on the Grayhounds at 9 am (Central), then face Maryville at 1 pm (Central).
