ST. LOUIS, Mo.– Maryville held off Drury and kept their record perfect in a 3-2 win over the Panthers at the Maryville Soccer Field in St. Louis, Missouri on Sunday.
Drury slipped to 2-3 while the Saints improved to 6-0.
Mirza Hasecic got Maryville on the board nine minutes into the match with his eighth goal of the season.
The Panthers tied the game in the 40
th minute on
Augusto Magalhaes' first goal of the year, and the score was deadlocked a 1-1 at halftime.
The Saints then scored two goals just 42 seconds apart as Ben Brody sent one into the net in the 56
th minute and Hasecic notched his second of the game moments later. The Panthers pulled within one on
Adem Hamdaoua's goal in the 63
rd minute, cutting Maryville's lead to 3-2.
The Saints hung on from there as Drury put up two shots in the final six minutes, but neither was on goal.
Drury returns home for their next game as they host Lindenwood for Friday at 7:30 pm at Harrison Stadium.
