SPRINGFIELD, Mo.–
Jamie O'Brien had a hat trick, and
Jayd Hamdaoua added two goals as the Drury Panthers picked up a 5-1 win at home over Lindenwood at Harrison Stadium in Springfield on Friday night.
The Panthers evened their record at 3-3 while the Lions fell to 2-5.
Hamdaoua put Drury on the board in the 24
th minute with this third goal of the season on an assist from
Matheus Cunha.
Jamie O'Brien, a First Team All-GLVC selection last year, broke through with his first goal of the year nine minutes later to put the Panthers ahead 2-0. Hamdaoua scored his second goal of the game in the 38
th minute, giving Drury a 3-0 advantage.
After Lindenwood scored their first goal of the game, the Panthers answered 17 seconds later as O'Brien notched his second score of the game.
O'Brien then fired home his third of the night, converting on a penalty kick in the 65
th minute. Friday's game marked the second three-goal game in the career of the junior from Darlington, England. O'Brien scored three goals on Sept. 13, 2019 at Southwest Baptist.
Drury is back at home on Sunday when they host Missouri-St. Louis at Harrison Stadium in Springfield. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
