Jamie O'Brien's hat trick lifts Panthers past Lindenwood 5-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Jamie O'Brien had a hat trick, and Jayd Hamdaoua added two goals as the Drury Panthers picked up a 5-1 win at home over Lindenwood at Harrison Stadium in Springfield on Friday night.

The Panthers evened their record at 3-3 while the Lions fell to 2-5.

Hamdaoua put Drury on the board in the 24th minute with this third goal of the season on an assist from Matheus Cunha. Jamie O'Brien, a First Team All-GLVC selection last year, broke through with his first goal of the year nine minutes later to put the Panthers ahead 2-0. Hamdaoua scored his second goal of the game in the 38th minute, giving Drury a 3-0 advantage.

After Lindenwood scored their first goal of the game, the Panthers answered 17 seconds later as O'Brien notched his second score of the game.

O'Brien then fired home his third of the night, converting on a penalty kick in the 65th minute. Friday's game marked the second three-goal game in the career of the junior from Darlington, England. O'Brien scored three goals on Sept. 13, 2019 at Southwest Baptist.
