LEBANON, Ill.— Drury split two matches in a Great Lakes Valley Conference triangular hosted by McKendree in Lebanon, Illinois on Saturday. The Panthers defeated host McKendree 3-0, then fell to 11
th ranked Missouri-St. Louis in their second match of the day.
Drury won their first match of the day, sweeping host McKendree 3-0. The Panthers won the first set 25-22, pulling away by winning five of the final eight points in the frame. Drury trailed 18-14 in the second but rallied for a 25-23 victory to take a 2-0 lead. The Panthers finished off the Bearcats, winning the third set 25-18.
Gabby Birmingham led Drury with 30 assists and 14 digs, while
Taylor Forth had nine kills and three blocks.
11
th ranked Missouri-St. Louis swept the Panthers in Drury's second match on Saturday. The Tritons claimed the first set, 25-18, then won the next two sets 25-21.
Chloe Rear led the Panthers with eight kills and 15 assists, while
Makina Wratten recorded five blocks.
The Panthers ended the day with a 6-6 record while McKendree went to 5-6, and UMSL improved to 7-2.
Drury competes in another triangular next Saturday when they travel to Quincy to take on the Hawks and Southern Indiana in Quincy, Illinois.
