SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—
Jayd Hamdaoua's goal in the closing seconds of the first overtime gave the Drury Panthers a 3-2 win at McKendree at Leemon Field in Lebanon, Illinois, Friday night.
Drury improved to 5-3 while McKendree fell to 3-4-2.
The Bearcats grabbed an early lead on James Stone's goal four minutes into the game, but
Adem Hamdaoua evened the score just before halftime with his third goal of the season.
McKendree reclaimed the lead in the 74
th minute, but Drury answered again and forced overtime with
Joshua Lewis-Evans' third goal of the year.
With 27 seconds remaining in the first overtime,
Jayd Hamdaoua scored his fifth goal of the year to win the contest in Drury's second straight OT win.
Jayd and
Adem Hamdaoua combined for 14 shots as the Panthers avenged their overtime loss at McKendree in last year's Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament.
Drury travels to Southern Indiana on Sunday for a 2:30 pm kickoff in Evansville, Indiana.
