QUINCY, Ill.– The Drury Panthers kept their postseason hopes alive as they knocked off Quincy 1-0 on Sunday at Legends Stadium in Quincy, Illinois.
Drury raised their record to 5-5-3, while the Hawks fell to 7-4-2.
The two teams battled to a scoreless tie through one half, and then the Panthers broke through as
Elsa Gonzalez put her team in front with a goal in the 77
th minute. Gonzalez, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, also had Drury's lone goal on Friday in a 1-1 tie at Illinois Springfield.
Kaitlin Knetzke made three saves in the shutout win as the Panthers allowed 11 shots but just three on goal.
Drury is tied for ninth place in the GLVC standings but still has a chance to crack the top eight with one game remaining in the regular season. The Panthers host Truman State, a team in seventh place and 6-6 so far this season, on Friday at 5:30 pm at Harrison Stadium.
