ROLLA, Mo.— Drury dominated Missouri S&T in the opening set, but the Miners responded to win the next three sets to defeat the Panthers 3-1 at Gibson Arena in Roll on Thursday.
Drury fell to 8-9, while Missouri S&T clinched the Great Lakes Valley Conference's West Division title with a 12-5 record.
The Panthers won the first set 25-11. The Panthers posted a hitting percentage of .360 and had four blocks in their opening set win.
Missouri S&T recovered, however, and won the next set 25-20, then took the lead in the match with a 25-23 win in the third. The Miners closed out the match, winning the fourth set 25-22.
Makina Wratten led the Panthers with 10 kills, while
Chloe Rear had nine kills, 18 assists, and 17 digs.
Taylor Forth had a solo block and five block assists, while
Faith Alwardt had six block assists.
Payton Gannaway had 17 kills and 12 digs for Missouri S&T.
The Panthers end the regular season on Friday when they take on Southwest Baptist at 6 pm in Bolivar, Missouri.
