COLLINSVILLE, Ill.– Drury battled Illinois Springfield to 1-1 tie in Collinsville, Illinois on Friday afternoon.
The Panthers went 4-5-3 while the Prairie Stars moved their record to 2-7-1.
The two teams played to a scoreless first half, then Drury got on the board in the opening moments of the second half on a goal by
Elsa Gonzalez in the 46
th minute. The goal was the second of the year for the freshman from Madrid, Spain.
Illinois Springfield tied it five minutes later, however, as Abby Delamorte put in her first goal of the season.
Neither team broke through in either overtime as both squads put to one shot each in both extra periods. The Panthers had seven shots on goal in the game to the Prairie Stars four.
Drury returns to action on Sunday with a game at Quincy starting at noon.
