Allison Weber named GLVC women's Swimmer of the Year, Rafaela Raurich wins GLVC Freshman of the Year, Brian Reynolds named Coach of the Year

ELKHART, Ind.— Moments after winning the 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference championship on Saturday, the Drury women's swimming & diving took home several major awards from the league.
 
Senior Allison Weber was named the GLVC Swimmer of the Year, Rafaela Raurich was selected as the league's Freshman of the Year, and Brian Reynolds took Coach of the Year honors in the conference.
 
A Drury swimmer was named the league's Swimmer of the Year for the sixth season in a row as Allison Weber became the latest Panther to win the award. The senior from Marshall, Missouri, swept the distance events at the GLVC Championships, winning the 1000 Free, the 500 Free, and the 1650 Free.
 
Rafaela Raurich won GLVC Freshman of the Year honors. The first-year swimmer from Brazil won three events, was the runner-up in two, and she picked up a third-place finish. Raurich won the 100 Fly and the 200 Fly. She was on Drury's winning 800 Free Relay team, and earned second-place finishes in the 200 Free, and on DU's 400 Medley Relay team. Raurich was also on a Drury's 400 Free Relay team that came in third.
 
Brian Reynolds was named the GLVC Women's Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year. It marks the fourth time in five years he has been selected for the honor.
 
The Drury women's swimming team won the GLVC Championship on Saturday, capturing their fifth title in six years and their seventh GLVC championship in team history. The conference has competed for championships in swimming since 2014.
 
The Panthers will host the Last Chance Meet on Feb. 19 at the Breech Pool in the final event before the NCAA-II National Championship, March 9-12 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
