ELKHART, Ind.— The Drury women's swimming & diving team is in first place, and the men's squad is in third after the first day of competition at the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships in Elkhart, Indiana.

The DU women's squad accumulated 548.5 points to lead the conference field, while Indianapolis is in second with 490 points, and Lindenwood is third with 398.5.

The Panthers men's team has 345 points, while McKendree is in first place with 411 points. Indianapolis is in second with 398.5.

Women's Highlights
The Panthers opened the first night of finals, being edged by one-hundredths of a second in the 200 Medley Relay.

Mackenzie Wieberg,
Yasmin Preusse had a time of 1:40.95 but were out-touched at the wall by Indianapolis and their time of 1:40.94.

Drury finished 1-2-3 in the 1000 Freestyle as
Allison Weber won the gold with a time of 10:01.97.
Marina Amorim was second (10:10.90), and Karianne Reiner was third (10:16.36).

Bec Cross came in third in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:01.08.
Yasmin Preusse was also third in the 50 Free (23.07).

Drury's 200 Free Relay team was third as
Kasia Rogowska, Wieberg, Preusse, and
Laura Pareja posted a time of 1:32.66. The top three teams were only separated by 0.55 seconds as Indianapolis won with a time of 1:32.11, and Lindenwood was second (1:32.37).

Men's Highlights
Drury's 200 Medley Relay team was third in a tightly contested race. Mikita Tsmyh,
Dawid Nowodworski,
Dominik Karacic, and
Alex Bowen combined for a time of 1:25.93. McKendree won the event with a time of 1:25.53, and Indianapolis edged the Panthers for second place by one-hundredths of a second.

Davi Mourao came in second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:48.27, and
Alex Bowen was also third in the 50 Free (19.88).

The Panthers' 200 Free Relay team ended the night with a third-place finish.
Kham Glass, Bowen,
Caleb Carlson, and Nowodworski combined for a time of 1:19.28.

The GLVC Championships continue tomorrow with preliminary rounds at 9 am (Central) in Elkhart, Indiana. The event concludes on Saturday.
