The Drury Dozen is an annual list of our favorite moments of the year from Drury Athletics. The list is not necessarily the most significant events but the special games and moments we'll always associate with 2021-22.
Â
We'll provide honorable mention selections later in the countdown, but, for now, here is our third entry from 2021-22:
Â
#10 – Claire McCune becomes Drury's first two-time cross country All-American
Â
Nov. 20, 2021 – St. Leo, FL
It marked another milestone in a storybook career while capping an incredible cross country career as
Claire McCune posted a 24
th place finish at the 2021 national championships in St. Leo, Florida.
Â
McCune's 24
th place finish was the best placement ever by a Drury runner at the national championship meet and it earned her All-American honors for the second time in her career. The Springfield native was an All-American in 2019 and became the first runner in program history to be honored with national accolades twice.
Â
She finished the six-kilometer race in 21:14.2.
