SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Northeastern State held off a Drury push in the second half for a 2-1 win over the Panthers at Harrison Stadium on Sunday in Springfield.
The loss dropped Drury to 1-1, while the RiverHawks raised their record to 1-1.
Northeastern State struck with two goals in the first half. Devi Dornelles got his team on the board in the 11
th minute, then Flynn Semmerling scored his second goal of the year midway through the half.
The Panthers rallied and pulled within a goal of the lead in the 66
th minute on Kaelen Debbage's second goal of the year.
Nathan Logue was credited with the assist.
Drury put up nine shots in the second half, but only two were on net, and RiverHawks goalkeeper Nikolas Kirhoff made three saves in the win.
The Panthers are at home again on Wednesday afternoon when they host Southern Nazarene at 1 pm at Harrison Stadium.
