MARYVILLE, Mo.– Drury battled Northwest Missouri State to a scoreless on Sunday in Maryville, Missouri. The NCAA discontinued overtime this season, sending the Panthers and Bearcats to a 1-0-1 at the end of 90 minutes of play.
Drury outshot Northwest Missouri State 12-7, and
Tara Simon led the Panthers with four shots.
Kaitlin Knetzke, who tied for the national lead in shutouts in NCAA-II last year, notched her second straight blank sheet to start the year as the senior from Ozark made five saves.
Lilly Ellis had four saves for the Bearcats in the tie.
The Panthers are back on the road next week when they travel to Purdue-Northwest for a game Friday at 1 pm in Hammond, Indiana.
