SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury won twice on Saturday to take three out of four in the DU/SBU this weekend. The Panthers won both of their Saturday matches in three sets sweeping Lake Superior State and Southern Arkansas at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
In Drury's first match of the day, the Panthers fought off three set points to win the first set 28-26. Drury then took command to win the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-15.
Kayli Duncan led Drury in kills with 11,
Chloe Rear had 38 assists and 12 digs, while
Stormi Tadlock added nine kills and posted a .692 hitting percentage. Emilee McDaniel had 13 kills to lead the Lakers.
The Panthers pulled off another sweep taking down Southern Arkansas 25-20, 25-14, 25-15 in their second match of the afternoon.
Salma Lewis had 14 kills and 11 digs for Drury, while Rear added 37 assists and five blocks.
Juliana Squire also contributed 18 digs and a pair of service aces.
The Panthers ended the day with a 3-5 record, while Lake Superior State returned to Michigan 1-7 and Southern Arkansas fell to 0-8.
Drury returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Wichita, Kansas, to take on Newman at 6 pm.
