SPRINGFIELD, Mo.–  Drury forward J.J. Adikwu was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer for his performance in two games last week.
 
Adikwu helped the Panthers go 1-0-1 in two games and scored goals in both contests. The sophomore from London, England, scored Drury's second goal on Friday against Upper Iowa, giving the Panthers a 2-1 lead in the 84^th minute in what turned out to be a 2-2 tie against the Peacocks. Adikwu scored again on Sunday with a goal early in the second half that tied the game against Truman State at 1-1. Drury went on to win that contest 2-1.
 
It marks the first time in Adikwu's career that he has won the league's weekly award and he is the first Drury player to receive the honor since Nathan Logue was named Player of the Week on Sept. 5, 2022.
 
The Panthers have gone 2-0-1 in their last three games and are 2-4-4 overall with a 2-2-2 mark in the GLVC. Drury's next game is at Quincy on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Quincy, Ill.
